Ironside State School's curriculum includes the key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), Health and Physical Education, Science, Technology, Languages other than English (LOTE) - Japanese and the Arts.

Ironside State School is currently implementing the Queensland Curriculum and Reporting Framework. QCARF aligns curriculum, assessment and reporting. It supports teachers and teaching practices that are tailored to meet the unique needs of students from Years 1 to 9.
