Population

The student population is 761 with 90 students attending Prep, which is located in a new building at the north of the school grounds. Ironside State School is also very fortunate to have many students from non-English speaking backgrounds enrolled at the school. The school employs two full-time ESL teachers to cater for the needs of these students.

Students in Years 4 to 7 participate in the Australasian Tests with very successful results. Students in Years 3, 5 and 7 also participate in the State Literacy and Numeracy tests in August each year.
