Focus on the four roles of the reader, code
breaker, meaning maker, text user and text analyst
to take student
comprehension from the literal to the evaluative.
Critical literacy:
How news is reported in newspapers & websites; in particular, but not limited to the Beijing Olympics.
Documentary: Mexico Olympics "Salute".
Writing
Written Discussion generic structure: preview of arguments; arguments for and against; conclusion
