Prep 2018 Enrolment Interviews

1/09/2017
Enrolment interviews for Prep 2018 students have started and Ms Ruddick has a busy schedule over the next few months with this important process.

Families new to Ironside State School should be aware of the updated Enrolment Management Plan which was officially gazetted on 30 June 2017 and is applicable to all enrolments after this date. Fundamental changes to the Enrolment Management Plan (EMP) include:

* While enrolment demand meets built capacity no out of catchment enrolments will be considered;
* Siblings no longer have automatic enrolment if the family has moved out of catchment;
* Children of staff are no longer entitled to enrol as if in catchment;
* Change of address to be notified within fourteen (14) days;
* Extensive evidence is now required to demonstrate bona fide residency within our catchment area.

The new EMP is not retrospective and does not disadvantage families who enrolled under the previous plan. This means that if a current student who was enrolled at Ironside before 30 June 2017 has a sibling, this sibling is still eligible for enrolment. The new EMP only applies to new families who have enrolled after 30 June 2017. Only siblings of students enrolled after 30 June 2017 no longer have automatic enrolment if the family has moved out of catchment.

Parents who have questions or concerns are encouraged to contact Mrs Suzanne Wells, Enrolment Officer, (Tuesday – Thursdays, swell134@eq.edu.au )
