Ironside Swim Club

Ironside Swim Club is a sub-committee of the Ironside Parents’ and Citizens’ Association. The club provides a family-friendly and fun environment where children under the age of 15 are able to participate in a variety of timed swimming races. All families from Ironside State School and the local community are welcome to join the swimming club. The club meets on Friday evenings from 6.00pm in school terms one and four. Note that all children must be accompanied by an adult. The meets include a free swim, chaperoned races for less confident swimmers and a BBQ.

Registration is easily done on the school Qkr! app. Select the total number of children that you are registering for one transaction. Cash for membership/s can be accepted on the night.

The Ironside Swim Club kicks off the 2018-19 season at the school pool on Friday 12th October and will run each Friday night throughout Term 4, 2018 and Term 1, 2019.

A free swim and barbeque starts at 6:00pm. Come and try for the first two weeks for free and participate in races in a friendly, social environment.

Younger, less experienced swimmers are welcome and can even swim in the supervised “tadpole” races held early in the night. All swimmers who register and pay to join in for the swimming season receive a participation gift.

Ironside Swim Club is entirely run by parent or carer volunteers and we are in need of support for the upcoming season; club Treasurer, as well as BBQ coordinators are needed, and during the swim club nights, there are other opportunities to participate including in marshalling and time keeping roles.

There will also be other swim meet opportunities for swimmers including a competition with another school in late October, so stay tuned.
Please come and join us. We look forward to seeing new and returning swimmers on the first Friday night of the new term. If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please email or give me a call on

Best wishes,
