Academic Competitions
Through competitions students can learn how to collaborate with widely differing personalities as well as gain better understanding of how to deal with conflicting opinions and ideas.
Competitions available at Ironside State School are listed below. Please note that some competitions are open to all students whereas others are via invitation or audition.
- Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)
- Debating
- Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO)
- Maths Team Challenge
- Literary competition
- Young ICT Explorers
- STEMKIDS
- ICAS – open to all students in Year 4, 5 and 6
- Participation in the University of New South Wales Global ICAS is optional to all students. Ironside students have access to the following competition subjects:
- Mathematics
- English.
